This 421,000 sf building houses a 340,000 sf Women and Infants Facility and an 81,000 sf Radiation Oncology Center.  Our firm was responsible for the design of the complete building shell as well as the design of the Radiation Oncology Center.  The Oncology Center includes multiple linear accelerator vaults, HDR vaults, C/T simulator, and PET/CT facilities.  As a learning hospital, the project also contains an auditorium, a library and other clinical and office space in support of the Universities educational objectives.  This project gives UAB the facilities appropriate for a Comprehensive Cancer Center as designated by the National Cancer Institute.
